A teacher can put his lesson, a young person's game, a software developer's tool, a master's career guide into the service of others. WAQF does not see this as just 'sharing for free'. It carries with it the questions of who has the effort and rights, what permissions were obtained, who can use it and how, what should be protected and who will continue to care for this work.
What is WAQF?
WAQF is to entrust a useful production to the service of others while protecting its rights.
Putting something online does not make it WAQF. The intention, source, rightful owner, permissions, usage limit and maintenance person of the production opened to WAQF are known. Thus, the work does not turn into an orphaned file; He continues to live in a way that serves Hayr-ı Âmm, that is, a wider good.

Basic Principle
Open access asks: 'Can it be shared?' WAQF also carries the question 'With what trust and to whose service is it opened?'
Open source and commons are valuable ways to share; WAQF may intersect with these but is not reduced to them. Just because a production is free does not mean that its rights, privacy, risk of misuse or need for maintenance are eliminated. WAQF considers sharing with intent, rights, permission, boundaries and service.
Why do we open it?
The aim is not to publish more files, but to serve a real need faithfully and continuously.
A model, dataset, or video can quickly reach thousands; But if its source is unclear, if it violates someone's rights, if it reveals confidential information, or if it misleads, visibility is of no use. WAQF sees the need and the addressee first; Then, it puts the production into service with the responsibility of SEDD, İHSAN, rights-law and maintenance.

A research, translation, dictionary or guide can be made available to readers with its resources and terms of use.
Curriculum and course
Teacher notes, workshop flows and learning materials can be shared so that other teachers can improve them.
Software and source code
An application or code library can be made available by clearly specifying its license, security boundary and maintainer.
Dataset and knowledge base
Data and information bases can be opened after examining the source, consent, privacy, error and usage limits.

Explain what it represents, what information and method it was produced with, what you don't know, and how to report the error.
03 Complete rights and permissions
Examine contributors, copyright, consent, privacy, child and institution data, security and potential for harm.
04 Determine who will use it and how
Clearly state whether public, limited, or limited use qualifies for escrow.
05 Establish maintenance and withdrawal path
Who will update it, how will changes be tracked, who will be notified of errors, and how will the work be limited or withdrawn if harm occurs?
